On this episode of Parents United: For All Kids, meet Brandon — a Durham dad fighting for the future of every child in North Carolina.

Brandon shares his experiences with his daughter as she came up through Durham Public Schools. He’s grateful for the teachers and programs that poured into her, but he refuses to stay quiet about the truth: the MAGA Republican-led NC General Assembly deliberately gutting funding for our public schools.

Brandon remembers the fear he felt watching his daughter ride overcrowded buses and the struggle to find safe, affordable after-school care that worked with his family’s income and schedule.

Like so many working-class parents, Brandon is fed up with lawmakers who continue to strip resources from our public schools, leaving educators and families to make do with less.

Now, as a father of a young son who’s about to start school and might need extra support, Brandon isn’t waiting around hoping things get better. He’s organizing, he’s speaking out, and he’s demanding every child in this state gets the opportunities and resources they deserve.

Brandon is calling on parents across North Carolina to stand with him.
